TA 101: Introduction to TA

Internationally recognised TA 101 Certificate

Length: 2 days

‘Essential TA concepts’
An exciting journey of discovery where you will be introduced to the main concepts of TA, offering you a way of understanding yourself and others.

Who is it for?
Anyone who is interested in learning about people, human nature, personality and relationships - also ideal for those in people-facing roles.

Stage One: Foundation in TA Theory

Certificate in Transactional Analysis Theory

Length: 11 weekends over 1 academic year

September to July

* Stage One can be taken as a stand-alone course

‘Application of TA to self and others’
Stage One 'Foundation' gives you a practical and experiential understanding of the major theories of TA and how to apply them to create positive change in yourself and others.


Who is it for?
Those training to be psychotherapists and counsellors and those wanting to use TA to enhance their understanding of relationships, communication and personality in their lives.

Stage Two (a): Clinical Training

Completion of first year of Clinical TA Training

Length: 11 weekends over 1 academic year

September to July

* Study Support courses are available

‘TA schools and approaches and their applications to clinical settings’

A balance of theory, clinical skills training, personal and professional development.

Who is it for?
Trainee psychotherapists and counsellors looking to develop their understanding of TA towards a clinical career.

Stage Two (b): Clinical Training

Completion of second year of Clinical TA Training

Length: 11 weekends over 1 academic year

September to July

* Study Support courses are available

 

‘TA schools and approaches and their applications to different client groups’

This year provides a deeper understanding of TA and how it is applied to complex client and group clinical work.

Qualification option
At this point, whether you are registered on the Counselling route or are planning to complete the further psychotherapy training, you may be eligible to take the Connexus Institute Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (below)

Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling - NCPS Accredited

The Connexus Institute Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling is accredited by the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and is awarded to those who have fulfilled the requisite hours of personal therapy, counselling/psychotherapy practice. Additional written work in the form of a case study and an oral exam exploring a piece of clinical work is also required. Please contact us for more information.

Stage Three: Advanced Clinical Training in TA

Completion of formal TA psychotherapy training

Length: 11 weekends over 1 academic year

September to July

‘TA Psychotherapy in the wider field and advanced clinical specialisation’
This stage constitutes the final part of ‘formal training’ towards the international examination set by the European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA) for accreditation as a Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) in the field of Psychotherapy.

Who is it for?
Trainee psychotherapists and counsellors looking to qualify as a TA psychotherapist. This would also include those who have qualified as TA counsellors some time ago, and who now wish to resume their studies and move towards qualification as a TA psychotherapist.
